Currently Scout and I are at the CDC institute 2011. This collaborative conference is put on by the CDC Office on Smoking and Health, the Division of Diabetes Translation, the Tobacco Technical Assistance Consortium (TTAC), and the Diabetes Training and Technical Assistance Center (DTTAC)

The Institute 2011 is a leadership and training forum designed to provide expert instruction and applied activities to increase practicable knowledge, build capacity, and increase competency in public health and management areas in order to achieve measurable outcomes and improve impact in the field.

The Institute 2011 Goals

  • Strengthen both the Tobacco Prevention and Control Workforce and the Diabetes Prevention and Control Workforce through capacity building and advanced educational training
  • Facilitate new partnerships and strengthen existing collaborations through networking
  • Provide a forum where practitioners can come together to share innovative uses of products and successful implementation of public health programs
Stay tuned for more about the conference, and a recap of the sessions.
