THRIVING TOGETHER: QUEER APIS BUILDING COMMUNITY, SOLIDARITY & MOVEMENT
by Christina Adams, NQAPIA Administrative Assistant
Tonight, we thrive. We bring together community members and allies, recognize histories, envision futures, and move forward in positive ways. With contributions from HealthLink at CenterLink, we have the capacity to organize together and create this space.
Although it may not have looked like a lot on the schedule, the first day of the conference held a full day. We had three pre-conference convening: Queer South Asian National Network (QSANN), AAPI parents of LGBTQs, and API Queer Christians and Allies. These strategy sessions were for respective community members dedicated to making a difference. And, we hosted our Welcome Reception! After feeling empowered by the convening and motivated at the reception, people are ready to begin Thriving Together.
This year is NQAPIA’s largest conference, AND this the largest LGBTQ AAPI conference in the nation! This year has so many categories that I cannot even list them all. The conference aims to be an affirming space of any intersectional identity, and for any way you identify, we can probably find a session that relates to you. We have a full and amazing line-up of people and events at our conference. Whether you are here with us or reading from afar, thank you for your dedication to us, and we will be dedicated to updating you about the conference.
