Nat’l Tobacco Conf Returns in Aug 2012

Ah those were the days right, when we had a big national tobacco conference every 18 months or so, and piggybacking on them were those amazing LGBTQ tobacco summits that were so much of the glue that really built this Network. But then the tobacco conf disappeared, rumored to never return. Well, I’m happy to say what’s old is new again, and the conference is officially slated for August 15-17th, 2012. Even better it’s at the site of one of our most amazing tobacco summits, Kansas City Missouri! So, get on your spurs folk, unless times have really changed, we should start to plan another LGBTQ tobacco summit, right?

But wait, the good news doesn’t stop there. Somehow the great wheel of fortune in the sky favored us and I’ve been added to the Steering Committee for the event. I know what you’re thinking, ho hum, right? No, this isn’t the massive planning committee it’s the top of the planning heap, the tiny committee of funders (and a few oddballs like me) who plan the main focus of the event. Far cry from the days when we couldn’t even get our summit to be recognized as an ancillary meeting, right? Of course, this means the comment desk is open, feel free to talk to me about what you want to see from the conference and I’ll try my level best to carry it forward well.
